Should the team bowling second not complete the allotted/revised quota of overs in the allotted/revised time, Average required run rate at start of the innings of the side batting second will be added to the opponent for each over bowled short. Example: If a team is chasing 200 in 20 overs (which is an average of 10 runs per over at the start of their innings) and if side bowling second fails to complete the overs and bowls only 18 overs, then a penalty of 20 runs for two overs bowled short shall be awarded to Batting side and the result announced after adding the penalty.
